My guess is some kind of freezer-burnt carmel and vanilla icecream? Interesting photo.
Looks like a frozen pepperoni pizza...not that I would have several of these in my freezer or anything...

I agree with Rockin Austin, my first thought was frost on a frozen pepperoni pizza - the staple of every teenage boy!!

Yes, it is a frozen pizza that I pulled from my not so efficient freezer and found it encased in ice crystals. You guys are really good! Some of you must own the same freezer I do.

I am guessing that it may be caramelized sugar on top of a tart. Perhaps, but only another talented pastry artist could tell for sure...
